Clé de Peau Beauté honors Reshma Saujani of New York, US for her extensive work championing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) education for girls with the Power of Radiance Awards 2024.
The annual Power of Radiance Awards are a celebration that recognizes women who are taking action in their communities by advocating for girls' education. Reshma Saujani’s non-profit organization, Girls Who Code, works to support and increase the number of women in computer science with the ambitious mission to close the gender gap in new entry-level tech jobs by 2030.
Girls Who Code has built the largest pipeline of female and non-binary computer scientists, providing 580,000 girls with access to technical skills and mentorship.
To aid this mission, Clé de Peau Beauté is partnering with Girls Who Code and Saujani to roll out the 20 Under 20 campaign, an initiative working to cultivate the next generation of female leaders in STEM.
Saujani began her career as an attorney and political activist. In 2010, she made history as the first Indian American woman to run for US Congress.
It was during this congressional run that she witnessed the significant gender gap in computer science classrooms, sparking a profound commitment to addressing this issue.
Over the past decade, Saujani has passionately built movements and platforms dedicated to empowering girls and women. Her focus extends beyond closing the gender gap in the tech sector, encompassing broader efforts for gender equality and women's economic empowerment in her current role as the Founder and CEO of Moms First.
With the Power of Radiance Awards Grant, Saujani plans to expand the reach of these movements, and encourage even more girls to stay engaged in STEM.
Always taking action when she sees a need, Saujani and Girls Who Code are partnering with Clé de Peau Beauté in the US to rollout the 20 Under 20 campaign.
With the biggest drop off of girls in computer science occurring under the age of 20, the campaign will provide 20 girls under the age of 20 with exclusive experiences, including unique access to Clé de Peau Beauté’s advanced research facilities, and scientists, mentorships and grants to support their STEM pursuits.

Reshma Saujani
Reshma Saujani is a leading activist and the founder of Girls Who Code and Moms First, formerly Marshall Plan for Moms. A mom herself, she has spent more than a decade building movements to fight for women and girls’ economic empowerment, working to close the gender gap in the tech sector, and most recently advocating for policies to support moms impacted by the pandemic.
Reshma is also the author of the international bestseller Brave, Not Perfect, and her influential TED talk, “Teach girls bravery, not perfection,” has more than five million views globally. Reshma began her career as an attorney and Democratic organizer.
In 2010, she surged onto the political scene as the first Indian American woman to run for U.S. Congress. During the race, Reshma visited local schools and saw the gender gap in computing classes firsthand, which led her to start Girls Who Code.
